today there was a “flash mob” set up by the seniors because it was their second to last day so they blasted the macarena over the loud speaker and did the dance in the main lobby but our headmaster knew about it so it wasn’t even funny but whilst walking past the elevator i found out why they really did this so called “flash mob”

also while it’s apparently kakuzu hour, i am very adamant that he is a character that could and should have been redeemed if this show was in the hands of any other writer who would have stuck to their guns about how the state and the people in power can be complete bastards
like his whole backstory, as vague as it is, is about kakuzu being betrayed by his village after surviving what they probably viewed as a suicide mission to kill the first hokage, for a reason i actually dont ever think is actually given but is probably greed motived which would explain why kakuzu’s money hungry now, him returning home humiliated cause he failed and then be faced with stigmatization and punishment with what was most likely torture until he decided enough was enough and got even with who directly betrayed him by killing them and packing his shit and leaving. like he was ready to die for his village until he realized he was wronged and pretty much disposable to them
and its not like he’s not affected by this and his actions either like this shit has stayed with him. in the third data book, it reveals he “mutilates himself in compensation” when he gets hearts and that kakuzu has some level of conflict about his actions. like to me this just implies that kakuzu has self hate that he makes tangible with his appearance cause its like a way to show what he’s done as both others and himself in an “if you call me a monster, i’ll show you a monster” kind of way
even as a criminal he’s not even that bad imo cause like what does he do? kill people for bounties aka other people who have done some fucked up shit. like thats far from the worst thing a person could do. im not gonna say he hasnt killed unjustly, like with previous partners who pissed him off enough, but overall he’s pretty chill. he’s just kinda mean and an asshole
in other words, itachi should have not been the akatsuki member that got that “he’s Good actually” twist cause it just kinda… wasnt well thought out considering he killed fucking family and he was better as a villain who just cared for sasuke in a weird way (like i know im all like “the state’s a bastard” and again maybe if kishi went with the “brainwashed by the state child” thing with itachi and showed him slowly growing through that Maybe i’d like twist more but i digress) and kakuzu should and would have gotten it instead because he actually has a very good backstory for this development had the writing actually allowed his character to develop and didnt get him killed off by mr. “hasnt done shit since zabuza” k*kashi of all people
